Local learning data

The Android app stores onboarding choices, lesson progress, quiz results, challenge completion, settings, and streak information locally on your device. The MVP has no account or cloud progress sync.

Images and OCR

When you take a photo or choose an image, CodeSense uses on-device text recognition. The default flow does not upload the image. The temporary capture file is local and is removed when it is no longer needed. You can review and edit extracted text before doing anything else.

AI analysis and usage

When you explicitly choose an analysis mode, the reviewed text, selected mode, language hint, app version metadata, a random installation identifier, and a request identifier are sent over HTTPS to the CodeSense server. The installation identifier is generated locally and is not a hardware identifier, advertising ID, email address, or account. It is used to enforce monthly AI limits and associate a verified subscription entitlement. The server stores only the minimum quota, entitlement, expiry, and one-way purchase-token hash needed to operate those features. Submitted source is not intentionally stored as application data or written to normal logs. Provider processing and retention policies may still apply.

Subscriptions

If you buy CodeSense Premium, Google Play handles payment processing. CodeSense receives purchase information needed to verify the subscription through Google Play and maintain your entitlement; CodeSense does not receive your payment card number. Reinstalling the app creates a new installation identifier, but Restore Purchases can submit a new verified Google Play purchase token so the entitlement can be associated with that installation.

What we do not do

CodeSense does not put an API key in the Android app, upload photos in the default OCR flow, sell submitted code, collect hardware identifiers, or claim that AI analysis is always correct.
